Students in Years 10 and 12 enjoyed a careers event with a twist. The ‘What’s My Line’ event saw students meeting with representatives from various roles across our employer partners and in small teams questioning them with closed questions to establish and guess what their role is. We were really impressed with the conversations that took place and the students certainly developed their understanding of the wide variety of roles in the sector. Students are now working on developing a catalogue of ‘job roles’ to use as a reference in the coming months. Many thanks go to Shaylor Group, Midland Metro Alliance, BAM, Morgan Sindall and RMD Kwikform for supporting the event.
During the weekend of 19-21 October a group of 14 hardy individuals set off on a trip to Capel Curig in North Wales for a full weekend of adventure. After settling in, we engaged in a mountaineering route up a mountain called Moel Siabod. I do believe this has been an exceptional weekend and my thanks go to the staff who accompanied the students. We will be running more of these adventure Training weekends and if it is something our students fancy trying, please speak to our SSI, Jason Till, who can give you more information on the trip.
